WASHINGTON – Today, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC (CFFE PAC) announced its endorsement of Janelle Stelson in her bid to represent Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, a key pickup opportunity for Democrats in what will be one of the most closely watched races in the country.
This endorsement reflects CFFE PAC's commitment to electing candidates who will make life more affordable by tackling the crippling cost of caregiving through investments in affordable child and elder care and paid family and medical leave. Securing a Democratic House majority is an essential first step to passing these policies to reduce the cost of care. CFFE PAC has a field office in PA-10 and plans to spend millions of dollars this cycle to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, including Janelle Stelson.
“Janelle Stelson has spent her career listening to Central Pennsylvanians, telling their stories, and holding those in power accountable,” said Sondra Goldschein, Executive Director of the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC. “Pennsylvania families deserve a representative who will bring that same commitment to Congress by standing up for affordable health care, protecting the programs families rely on, and fighting every day to lower costs. Janelle will always put working families ahead of partisan politics and special interests.”
“As someone who has been a caregiver for loved ones, I know how hard and expensive it can be to provide that care,” said Janelle Stelson. “Too many families are struggling to afford care while keeping up with their own bills. They should not have to figure it out on their own. I am grateful for CFFE PAC’s endorsement, and in Congress, I will fight to lower the cost of caregiving and protect the programs families rely on.”
For more than 30 years, Janelle Stelson has earned the trust of her community by reporting on the issues they face and holding those in power accountable. As an award-winning journalist, she shined a light on the challenges facing working families, from rising health care costs to economic insecurity. Throughout her career, she has given a voice to Pennsylvanians who are navigating rising costs, struggling to access health care, and striving for economic stability. In Congress, Stelson will fight to lower everyday costs, protect Social Security and Medicare, expand access to affordable health care, and create greater economic opportunity for families across central Pennsylvania.
In contrast, Stelson's opponent, Republican Rep. Scott Perry, has repeatedly backed policies that would make life more expensive for Pennsylvania families. Perry voted for the Republican reconciliation bill that cuts Medicaid and SNAP, threatening health care for more than 180,000 of his constituents and food assistance for 120,000 more. He has also supported tariffs that economists warn will raise the cost of everyday goods and has consistently opposed efforts to lower health care costs. Rather than standing up for working families, Perry has repeatedly sided with a failed agenda that puts their economic security at risk.
Pennsylvania families continue to rank the rising cost of living among their top concerns and are looking for leaders who will deliver real economic relief. With just 17% of Pennsylvanians reporting a positive view of the Trump administration's handling of inflation, electing leaders like Janelle Stelson is critical to advancing policies that lower costs and strengthen financial security for working families.
Separate from its electoral work, CFFE PAC’s sister organization, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy, launched Affordable Pennsylvania last year, focused on holding elected officials in three Pennsylvania districts, including PA-10, accountable after they promised to stand with working families and lower costs but instead cast vote after vote that neglected the needs of their constituents. Affordable Pennsylvania spent more than $2.4 million in organizing and a paid media campaign, elevating the stories of local families to urge officials like Rep. Scott Perry to reverse course and focus on making life more affordable.

The Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC works to elect candidates who believe all people should be able to afford to care for themselves and their loved ones. Since 2015, we have run some of the largest electoral programs in battleground states to support candidates that are fighting for policies like paid family and medical leave and quality, affordable child care, elder care and health care. We know how to effectively communicate about high costs and the economy in the way people actually think about it – emphasizing who is committed to lowering costs, and who isn’t. We use this insight to reach voters at the scale needed to have an impact, building support for candidates up and down the ballot who are committed to lowering the cost of caregiving.
