Citing Commitment to Lower Cost of Caregiving, Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC Endorses Greg Landsman for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District

WASHINGTON – Today, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC (CFFE PAC) announced its endorsement of Congressman Greg Landsman for reelection in Ohio's 1st congressional district, a key race for Democrats in what will be one of the most closely watched contests in the country.

This endorsement reflects CFFE PAC's commitment to electing candidates who will make life more affordable by tackling the crippling cost of caregiving through investments in affordable child and elder care and paid family and medical leave. Electing a Democratic House majority is an essential first step to passing these policies to reduce the cost of caregiving. CFFE PAC has a field office in the district and plans to spend millions of dollars across Ohio to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, including Greg Landsman.

In Congress, Rep. Greg Landsman has worked to lower costs for working families by introducing legislation to increase support for child care small businesses and strengthen financial support for child care providers. He successfully led efforts to lower prescription drug costs for seniors and developed the Common Ground Healthcare Framework to extend health insurance premium savings for American families. When he returns to Congress, Landsman will continue fighting to lower costs and help more Ohio families get ahead.

In contrast, Republican Eric Conroy has embraced Donald Trump's MAGA agenda, running on the same policies that have made life more expensive for working families. Trump's Republican tax bill threatens to strip health care from 483,000 Ohioans and jeopardize SNAP benefits for 771,000 Ohio families. Trump’s tariffs have already increased costs for Ohio consumers and businesses and are projected to cost the average Ohio family $3,300 by the end of 2026. Rather than fighting to lower costs and strengthen the financial security of Ohio families, Conroy has aligned himself with a failed agenda that doesn’t work for Ohio.

Across the state, families are struggling with the rising costs of housing, groceries, health care, and caregiving. More than 40% of Ohio households cannot make ends meet, including 73% of single-parent households. Additionally, Ohioans cite inflation and high prices as the most important issue influencing their vote this fall. Ohio families deserve a leader who will take on those challenges—not make them worse. Greg Landsman will continue fighting to lower costs, strengthen financial security, and ensure every family has the opportunity to get ahead.

Separate from its electoral work, CFFE PAC’s sister organization, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy, launched Affordable Ohio to urge elected officials working on lowering costs to continue prioritizing affordability. Affordable Ohio ran a field program, talking to thousands of residents in the district about the high cost of living and how Rep. Landsman is working to address their concerns and make life more affordable.
